The Hammarsdale community has been hard hit by unemployment leading to a rise in food insecurity and related social problems. With food and jobs being critical levers of change, the DO MORE FOUNDATION established the #DoMore4Hammarsdale project in 2016 which seeks to alleviate hunger and facilitate access to economic opportunities within the Hammarsdale community near Durban. Since 2016 the DO MORE FOUNDATION has been collaborating with various partners to address such key issues. This newsletter highlights our key achievements and updates resulting from such collaborative efforts over the past year detailing the following programmes;

  1. Small-scale vegetable Growers
  2. Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre vegetable gardens
  3. Enterprise Development
  4. Youth empowerment
  5. Annual Campaigns
