About Riedewhaan Allie: Riedewhaan Allie has completed an MA in Social Work at the University of the Western Cape in 2002. Currently registered as a PhD student and exploring the scaling potential of a home visiting programme in ECD to benefit more children in poor communities. Currently serving as the Director of the Western Cape Foundation for Community Work since 2004. For the past 20 years he has been involved in the ECD sector, and one of his flagship programmes, Family in Focus, are taking learning opportunities for children directly into their homes. During 2009 this programme won the ABSA/ECD award for the best innovative programme in ECD. The FIF programme has also been documented as a best practice model by Unicef (2008) and the National Dept of Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (2017).
