South Africa currently faces extreme economic hardships, such as unemployment and poverty. Unfortunately, these challenges breed other obstacles like drug abuse, gender-based violence, and increased criminal activity in the poorest communities in the country. Yet, despite the difficulties they face, women are courageously working to break the cycle of poverty through formal and informal businesses in their communities. According to The Commission on the Status of Women in South Africa, of the 51% total woman population in the country, 45% of them are active participants in the economy.

We have been able to #DoMore in Hammarsdale and this makes me extremely proud. We did it in a collaborative way and we worked closely with community representatives in doing so. We didn’t take the easy route – we committed to listening and engaging despite the difficulties this presented.

SERITI INSTITUTE AND THE DO MORE FOUNDATION PARTNER TO SPREAD NUTRITION MESSAGES ACROSS THE COUNTRY

SERITI Institute has embarked on a partnership with the Do More Foundation to empower 150 nutrition leaders to be confident in delivering nutrition messages in their local communities with the Eat Love Play Talk Programme. Individuals from the Work.Grow.Learn, aRe Bapaleng and National Youth Service Programme showed significant improvement in nutrition, play and facilitation knowledge building their confidence as nutrition leaders.

The DO MORE FOUNDATION, founded by RCL FOODS, have partnered with the Selati Cup 2023 soccer tournament in Nkomazi, Mpumalanga to launch a campaign encouraging the active involvement of men in children’s lives.
