#000000

The DO MORE FOUNDATION is excited to announce our #DoMoreFridays partnership with East Coast Radio who - with YOUR help - is joining us to #DoMore to end childhood hunger and malnutrition this World Food Day.

We answer your frequently asked questions about our #DoMoreFridays campaign this World Food Day with ECR:

What is the ask?

DO MORE and ECR are calling on businesses to buy 12 exclusive #DoMoreFriday t-shirts for just R2000 and help us provide one year’s worth of DoMore Porridge (240 meals) to a young child at their early childhood development (ECD) centre or programme.

Who can participate ?

KwaZulu-Natal businesses who can purchase a minimum of 12 t-shirts for their staff members to wear. We are not accepting individual sales due to delivery costs and logistical constraints.

Tell me about the order and cost breakdown

A minimum order of 12 t-shirts is required.

  • 12 t-shirts = R2000
  • 20 t-shirts = R3300

Please note, these order costs are inclusive of delivery costs.

  • Thereafter, individual t-shirts = R180

Please note, an individual t-shirt order excludes delivery cost if not with a bulk order.

When is the campaign running?

From 18 September to World Food Day on 16 October 2024. T-shirt sales will be extended depending on interest.

Why should I support this campaign?

There are about eight million children in South Africa who face hunger due to poverty. Approximately 33% of children in South Africa live below the extreme poverty line, and nearly half are below the lower bound poverty line. The country also has one of the highest levels of income inequality globally, contributing to widespread child poverty (UNICEF, 2023).

These statistics underscore the significant impact of economic disparities and insufficient social support systems on children's well-being.

What is DoMore Porridge?

DoMore porridge has been specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young children (birth to five years), supporting their brain growth and development during a crucial period when 90% of this takes place. This means these young children are more likely to reach their full potential, excel in school, and grow up to contribute positively to our country.

Tell me about the impact DO MORE's feeding program has had?

Over the past year alone, we have delivered more than 6.4 million meals of DoMore Porridge to young children in 30 communities every day they attend an early childhood development (ECD) centre. One third of those communities are in KZN, where we have fed almost 1.7-million meals to over 6,800 young children.

How is my donation maximised to feed young children?

DoMore Porridge is produced by RCL FOODS who provide it to us at cost every month. In this way, DO MORE maximises donations as 100% of the proceeds go towards production of the porridge rather than any profit. We channel donations to selected ECD centres and day mother programmes that are managed by trusted RTO partners.

Will DO MORE handle the logistics?

Yes. Once we recieve your order request via the order form below, we will process your order and deliver your beautiful #DoMoreFridays t-shirts to your business address within 5 working days.

Count me in! How do I order?

Complete this t-shirt order form. Thank you!
