The DO MORE FOUNDATION, founded by RCL Foods, prioritises the mobilization of resources and capacity through our unique collective impact approach to the work we do. Passionate people and organizations who harness their leadership, utilise their skillset, and make meaningful relationships are the types of partners we strive to collaborate with to realise the rights and needs of young children.

The National Integrated ECD Policy (2015) states clearly that “All responsible role players are required to commit to, and align their policies, laws, programmes, and budgets to achieve the common national integrated early childhood development vision, goals and objectives.” (Chapter 6)

In theory, this positions a synergy between parties and a goal-oriented process upon which to follow. Linear progress is not what we see, and the DO MORE FOUNDATION is proactively choosing to be an organization that is committed to the realisation of a child centred world in which children have a better tomorrow.

We cannot do this alone. Private-public partnerships (PPP) have been well documented and praised for their ability to pull from all stakeholders’ strengths for the greater good. It does not come without its challenges and our team is often confronted with hurdles that call for us as leaders to coordinate and organize ourselves in the best possible way to achieve our goal.

There are some supportive commitments that ensure coordinated collaboration does indeed serve a collective impact cause and those include:

  1. Purposeful Networking – this involves the exchange of information for mutual benefit. Our stance is that keeping our material and programme document open source is a powerful way to approach development and partnership.

  2. A Clear Coordinator – allocating responsibilities and altering activities to achieve a common purpose. Allowing leadership roles to be clear does assist team and collative work to be effective and efficient

  3. Willing Cooperation – this involves sharing of information for mutual benefit, altering activities for a common purpose as well as sharing resources for attainment of a mutual benefit and common purpose;

  4. Impactful Collaboration – this involves networking, coordination, and cooperation as well as improving the capacity of the other partner for mutual benefit and a common purpose; joining for the greater good, unlike a transactional relationship.

  5. Contracts and agreements – there is safety in agreements. Where financing and service delivery are provided by different role players, to ensure quality provision of early childhood development programmes and services in a written format to keep expectations clear.

We can go further together. #DOMORE
